…back from vacation, just in time to end the year…

…DOW +96…each of the past 3 months the major indexes have run up at the end of the month…to their own detriment…it raises the bar for the next month to stay above…this month is following those footsteps..
…2009 is just 1 market hour away…and when that starts all performances start back to zero…too bad portfolio and real money don’t…but this years massive RAZOR out performance will be but a memory come Friday January 2, 2009…that is a sweet memory for RAZOR TRADING, but what will 2009 bring…outperforming the S&P by 40% will be tough, I am going no where unless i am in the same area of performance…taking bigger risks and making more return will be a necessity for survival …bring it on.

…Monday was a struggle for trading…I felt strong about direction, but indicators didn’t line up…and then the market goes form DOW -10—to DOW -200…as the decline deepened after 2:00pm, frustration for not shorting some positions creeps in, but again, RAZOR setup did not show…at 3:30pm just when the market has tanked and I am upset about missing the trade, WHAM!…the market streaks back 150 points and finishes the day DOW -59..and the stock I was looking to short, GENZ, shoots way up…good for my account to not have been led into that false trade, but bad/good/bad/good for my mental trading tools…
…the trading plays out like this;
1. spot the potential
2. ID possible stocks to execute the potential
3. setup does not work, not lining up…
4. market starts moving big into the direction you thought
5. semi-panic looking at the trading, comparing the RAZOR INDICATORS…DID I make a mistake? Is it confirming?
6. Damn, i should have taken that trade, but what can I do, the setup wasn’t there! Hey kids, shut IT!!!
7. trade collapses…WHEW…I knew it wasn’t good! …but it made me less than pleased…
8. Wanna do it again tomorrow?…Yes, Can’t wait!

…DOW -3…game over meaning, big rally not very likely…positive day—could be, but the big rally day seems doomed from the start…with so few days left in the year, and that I am home with my kids ALL day, by myself, I’ll be here no matter what the market does…

…DOW -27…for those who follow oil closely, the $42 per/barrel price today looks like it is way up from Fridays $35 or so…the futures contract rolled into the February 09 contract…but this is nothing new…the $$ you see reported has always been jumping around like crazy…that is why I watch the tracking ETF stock— USO—type that in your quotes to see what today is really pricing like…the USO is very helpful to keep track of the trend and daily movement even when the futures contracts roll….
…bigD, i know you know about the USO, but for others, it helps keep track, because the news people do very little to explain these price swings…

…I watch only the first :90 minutes or so of CNBC…maybe it is different later, but easy 3 out of 4 love this market…the statement is , look 1-2 years out and you will be happy…so be ready to be happy!…if I am still trading in 1-2 years, I’ll be happy with any market…

…I like to keep in the RAZOR news that the economy does not equal the stock market…if your company is doing poorly, the stock price may act well, and the opposite is also true …so, pay attention to both, but do not tie them at the hip…
